Can't deny your roots. Bring on the glam metal/hair bands/whatever.

Lately I've found myself obsessed with Kpop. Well, actually it's just one group I can't get enough of -- SHINee. Anyone else in here who knows them? Anyway, I'm watching/listening to this awesome conert performance they had. It. Is. Awesome.

Absolutely loving this album by Porter Robinson. Which is odd for me b/c my musical tastes lend more towards hardcore, thrash, punk, etc.

DocDave, yeah that's the good stuff. Pretty good live recording of their new stuff from KEXP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uXlU1KNmeI

And new Future Islands ticks all the boxes that new Future Islands should tick https://youtu.be/RGrhubD8VDg

And and this KEXP performance by Future Islands is a really good live recording. https://youtu.be/mosHFxtoVWI

I'm not a big hip-hop/r&b fan. Then Frank Ocean released "Chanel" and I've been listening on repeat for 48 hours straight.

The new Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness (formerly Jack's Manequinn and Something Corporate) record. Called "Zombies on Broadway." Very good.

thedrake Happy to help. This album is definitely more refined than Suck My Shirt (their earlier album) and some of their other albums. If you're looking for more of a raw sound then give Suck My Shirt a listen to on YouTube (I think the whole album has been uploaded there). If you're after a more refined yet still punk-ish album, Nose Bleed Weekend is definitely worth checking out.

I liken it to Rancid and Out Come The Wolves. Their albums before this were more raw and punching you in the face. Out Come The Wolves is (IMHO) a fantastic album. But it is also much more refined than their previous works.

    You have my attention.

I haven't been listening to anything new, but I did listen through the Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist recently and I was surprised how well that album has aged relative to what I like right now. Always fun to rediscover something

Really enjoying a lot of the tracks on that album. Run The Jewels has been a group that I'd heard was great for awhile now, but for whatever reason, I could never quite find my foothold into their music. It was actually Joe, on the main site, featuring "Thursday in the Danger Room" that finally did it for me. It gave me that "I get it now" moment. I don't know if that makes any sense or not...

Anyways, a couple of songs that I've been wearing out lately:

John Legend ft. Brittany Howard - Darkness and Light

Dawes - Roll with the Punches

After catching The Coathangers live this past week, been listening to Nose Bleed Weekend a lot. All female punk band. What's not to like?
