Aside from Mumford, I've really been feeling this song lately:

(Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home)

    And this:

    (Trampled by Turtles - Alone)

And on another extreme I've been really enjoying Childish Gambino lately:

Just hearing the new James Bond theme for Skyfall by Adele. Pretty good, though starts off too slow for what I hope is an action packed start to the movie.

The other song that's stuck in my head is 45 by Gaslight Anthem.

I refuse to hear the SkyFall theme until I'm sitting in the theatre for the film itself. In the meantime, a look back at the previous theme...

Sorry Bond, but "Another Way To Die" in Quantum of Solace was a misfire in my opinion. One of the least Bondian themes and a poorly developed song as a whole. It sounds like a rough, jagged, and cacophonous arrangement. While I don't hate it now, I still find it to be one of the worst Bond themes. At least despite not fitting the franchise, Madonna's "Die Another Day" was warmly received as a song outside of the film.

Now this wonderful track by Bond theme veterans Shirley Bassey & David Arnold was allegedly rejected in favor of the Jack White & Alicia Keys romp. I think it is beautiful and sounds like an excellent Bond theme.

Maybe it's just because I like the movie so much, but I really like Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. Definitely one of the most underrated themes in my opinion.

            From the 1987 film 'Mannequin'.

Bruce Springsteen - I'm On Fire

It sounds like American nostalgia at a summer concert 25 years ago to me.

Short Change Hero by The Heavy

Singer sounds like a Cee Lo Green and Curtis Mayfield love child lol.

Currently, The Protomen Act 1, a strangely good concept album based on Mega Man (judge away).

But I've had pieces of "Duvet" by BoA stuck in my head all day.

I beg of at least one person besides me to watch this whole 10 minute short film music video.

Directed by Anthony Mandler, who has done many great videos. Having enjoyed his work with The Killers (the Nevada setting and sounds of this song have drawn a lot of comparisons to their music and roots), I think this is one of the more cinematically beautiful videos in a long time. I'd say it has a compelling lyrical take on freedom and a bygone America.

songza is like spotify/pandora, only with way cooler playlists and no commercials. the tradeoff is that you can only skip 6 songs in an hour (i haven't had this be an issue yet, the playlists are great).

                      • I am loving of Monsters and Men, and especially this song.

                        • Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl

                          • Got a copy of the new POS album. Minneapolis is the only show on the tour that wasn't cancelled. Gonna be crazy.

"You don't need money to dress better than you do" - Salvatore Romano

                            • Such a good album... I'm incredibly bummed that he's not coming to Philadelphia now. Oh well, hopefully his kidney gets better soon.

                              • David Arnold, Casino Royale (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - Vesper

The piano cue of Vesper's theme in Casino Royale is one of my favorite pieces of music ever, along with the rest the song "Vesper" which is quite foreboding and tragically romantic. It is dark, but very beautiful.
