It's already mid 90s in Arizona and I have casual outdoor event tomorrow that will definitely require sun screen. It would nice to not have to actually smell like sun screen. To me it isn't an offensive smell, but not pleasant either. Any suggestions? Or am I reaching for something that doesn't exist?

Not cheap, but this one is great:

I just started to use this one as my daily moisturizer and it also works well:

I use a body lotion made by Vaseline that has 15 SPF. Pretty cheap, too (comes in a big green bottle for $5 or something).
15 won't be enough for long periods in the sun, though.
Neutrogena sunblocks have worked pretty well for me, as far as higher SPFs go. But they are pretty pricey. I don't specifically remember if they smelled bad or not.

Neutrogena's overhauled sunscreen from several years back has been popular for a while thanks to its matte, non-greasy, drier, and most importantly, gentler smelling formula. It doesn't smell like sunscreen. Just a mild lotion or something, but not bothersome.

Not sure how strong you're looking for, but I have some Keihl's sunscreen that I really like. They have a range from 15 SPF to heavier stuff.

I'll use Neutrogena, but my favorite is from the Aveeno Continuous Protection line). Consider 3 oz containers that can go with you on carry-ons.
Remember, that as of the end of this year, the FDA is revisng its rules for sunscreen labeling. The arms race of higher and higher SPF will go away because manufacturers can only label high SPF sunscreens as 50+. See more here.

@redbeardedmike I think SPF 85 and higher is too much trouble for me. When I put it on, my skin got very irritated and red. I washed it off and did SPF 70 from the same line and it was fine. From then on, I have avoided the over-the-top numbers anyways.
Glad they are making it more truthful by not letting the numbers make it seem like such a jump in protection after 50.
