TexasMethod didn't Karbach just open a new tap room/expand their brewery? Either way, it's definitely on my to-do next time I'm down that way over a weekend.

Yea it should be open now. Tap room and restaurant. They usually have experimental releases and one offs available on site only. Definitely check it out, when I was there you got a tour and 3 beers for $12. And you keep the glass. Great deal.

Just watched this video on Three Floyds disclosure it's NSFW: https://munchies.vice.com/videos/craftwerk-3-floyds I see they're mentioned earlier in this thread. After watching it I've made the decision to not purchase anything made by them. It's really a shame to me since I was born and raised in the town.

On the Houston note great pubs: Hay Merchant, Flying Saucer, Gingerman, Nobi and Karbach.

Why are you boycotting 3F? I thought the video was pretty dang cool! Nick Floyd seems like a dude that just cares about beer, not about marketing, not about schmoozing, not about image, just beer. That's as good as it gets in my book.

I didn't really care for the swearing/porn star comment/being what appeared to be buzzed the entire time. I don't need a company owner to be squeaky clean but it just didn't sit well with me

Bring on the winter ales and stouts!!! Can't wait.

As an aside I've been drinking a lot of coffee stout these days. Perfect time of year for it.

Who scored some BCBS this year?

Managed to try out the BCBS 2015, the BCBS Coffee, the BCBS Regal Rye, and actually managed to score a bottle of BCBS Rare!

Didn't know there were other beer snobs on here. I'm on untappd under the same name: ThisWasAndy

                NYC people?

And earlier someone mentioned Karbach and St. Arnold; being from San Antonio I concur. Good brews. Of course for Texas you can't leave Jester King out of the discussion. For San Antonio I definitely enjoy Freetail.

Not a fan of BCBS ... not a fan of bourbon in general so it's not up my alley. I believe they were bought out by Bud so you will see a lot more of it than it used to be.

Went to Heavy Seas tasting room on Saturday and had their Imperial Chocolate Stout, Siren Noire. Very good.

Love that stout; did you know that's also a bourbon barrel aged stout? Super silky and smooth for high ABV.

Imperial Chocolate Stout? Now you're talking my language! I picked up a gingerbread spiced stout yesterday. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but will hopefully later this week.

Ok. The beer on the thread this morning - Full Sail “Wassail” Winter Ale – $9 – $11 per six pack - looks damn tasty. Makes me wish I could track it down here. If anyone of you gets a chance to try it out, please let me know what you think.

This doesn't sound all that appealing to me, but the phrase "Full Sail Wassail Winter Ale" is wonderful. "Hey, Dale! Get me a pail of Full Sail Wassail Winter Ale. A big pail. Big as a whale."

If you drank a full pail, you'd spend the night in jail.

                              Unless you quickly make bail.
