What podcasts are you listening to?

I'm am avid podcast listener and am curious to know what podcasts other people find enjoyable. My favourites include:
    • The American Life

    • Q from CBC Radio

Great topic. Look forward to getting recommendations.
ESPN's NBA Lockdown, NBA TV's The Starters, Grantland's The Lowe Post, and the CBS Eye on Basketball podcasts are my day to day mainstays for humor, entertainment, and of course NBA insight. Kind of a junkie. The EOB podcast is my favorite of the 4.

There hasn't been a new one in a while but Alton Brown's podcast was entertaining.

    On The Media
I haven't listened to these three in a few months but they're wonderful for different reasons. Would love some recommendations in the art/culture/architecture and design realm. Wouldn't mind listening to home improvement stuff either, I find it relaxing and a nice change of pace even though I am not yet a homeowner.

I listen to a kinda stupid quantity of podcasts as I ride the train to and from work.
          I regularly listen to:

          The Slate Political Gabfest
          The Slate Culture Gabfest
          Mom and Dad Are Fighting
          Radiolab
          The Savage Lovecast
          Startup
          This American Life
Serial (when it was on, anyway)
          Hardcore History
          The Bowery Boys

I listen to many (but not all) episodes of:

          Fresh Air
          The Brian Lehrer Show
          The Longform Podcast
          WTF
          Death Sex and Money
          Planet Money.

I check in with others here and there as well, but those are the bulk of what I listen to.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Some have been mentioned above.

            The NPR/PRI regulars:
            This American Life
            Radiolab
            On The Media
            Planet Money
            Freakonomics

            The odd/humorous:
            Welcome to Night Vale
            How to do Everything
            Reply All
            TLDR

            Personal Finance:
            Jill on Money
            The Dough Roller
            Money Guy

Occasionally, I'll also check in on Snap Judgment, The Moth, and The Truth. And I listened to Invisibilia and Serial when they were on.

Lastly, I also like Filmspotting for movie discussion

I just signed up for The Memory Palace, which I'm looking forward to checking out when I have a driving trip or a time-consuming project.

I love Bill Burr's Monday podcasts, if you're in to his style of comedy it's definitely worth a listen

Serial was/is a great podcast. Or at least I found it to be very well done. I am looking forward to the next one; whenever it comes out and on whatever topic they decide to cover. The podcast CRIMINAL has tried to come out with a similar podcast, difference being they are one-off episodes that are approx 8 - 15mins in length. I've listened to a few of them and they're ok.

Others that I listen to regularly have been mentioned here too including:
                99% Invisible
                Radiolab

Some good recommendations here that I'll have to check out.

Tim Ferriss podcast is great for growth, personal and career. It seems hit or miss sometimes because he gets into granular, practical detail with each interviewee in their respective careers; so it may not always apply to you. However I think it's a great reminder that all of these idolized or highly successful/effective people are just everyday humans. If you believe in proximity, or that you are the average of the 5 people you hang around or are exposed to, this is a great way to average in billionaire entrepreneurs and investors, world changers, inventors, genius marketers, etc.

Funny, I just started listening to Tim Ferriss a couple of days ago.
My semi-regular listens include several already mentioned - This American Life, Radiolab, Welcome to Nightvale. Serial was genre-defining, can't wait for next season.
                    Invisibilia was meh.
I also enjoy "The Infinite Monkey Cage", an irreverent science panel show out of the UK. And "The Partially Examined Life" when I occasionally want to geek out on philosophy (and who here doesn't?)

With the exception of running through Serial, I primarily listen to comedy ones. My favorites:

                      Listen to every episode:
Harmontown - Dan Harmon (creator of community) does a weekly live show with friends/guests
Nerd Poker - Brian Posehn and friends playing Dungeons and Dragons (not a huge fan of playing D&D myself, but it's very enjoyable when you listen to comedians play)

Listen when the topic/guest interests me:
You Made it Weird - Pretty much the same format as WTF, but hosted by Pete Holmes.
How Did This Get Made - comedians reviewing bad movies
                      WTF
                      The Indoor Kids
                      This Feels Terrible

Can you describe some of the other ones on this list? I listen for an escape so these are really intriguing.

                          Gladly!

The Indoor Kids is a relatively new one for me. It's Kumail Nanjiani (comedian, actor) and his wife, Emily Gordon talking about video games (past and present) with guests.

This Feels Terrible is another sort of interview show hosted by Erin McGathy (Comedian, wife of Dan Harmon) with a focus on love/relationships. Most of them are funny, but it does get heavy from time to time.

There's a lot of guest overlap in some of my favorites which is kind of how I discovered each. Everyone seems to do everyone else's podcasts, so a lot of times, I'll find out a particular guest I like on one show actually has their own podcast.

Tim Ferriss? Never heard of him or his podcast. But from the way you describe it, I will definitely give it a listen. Thanks for the tip!

aside from serial, which is incredible, most of the ones I like are comedy podcasts.

wtf: seems like marc maron has interviewed every single person in comedy. if you like hearing comedians talk about comedy and their roots, this is great.

how did this get made: a couple of the guys from The League and wife talk about bad movies. I love watching terrible movies, so this one is right up my alley. really works better if you've seen the movie they're reviewing before you listen to each episode.

the thrilling adventure hour: just started this one, it's kind of hit or miss. it's like an old timey radio program. the episodes with paul f tompkins and paget brewster are the best so far.

the paul f tompkast: this one is my favorites. PFT stream of consciousness riffing, recurring sketches and maybe an interview in each episode.
