Ended up buying it. Free returns, so along with the other versions (Macy's Bar III, JCP Clairborne, JCF Thompson), I can pick one or two to keep and return the rest. From what people have said, coupons affecting suits are infrequent, so I'd might as well try it on. It's not like I'll find a 36S in town anyway.

Yeah the JCF is definitely longer. I'm also wearing a bigger jacket than you in a 44R, I've got a bit extra in the mid-section that I'm compensating for when fitting for jackets.

FYI, it's a bit louder in person than online. The green is definitely brighter.

I went through the same back and forth with this jacket this morning. I like the blackwatch pattern and can imagine wearing it on several occasions (holiday parties, after work events). However, I'm restricting myself to only buying items that I've had my eye on for a while. Otherwise, I find myself justifying purchases because it's affordable, particularly during the holidays when sales are plentiful. If a blackwatch sportcoat has been on your list for a while, then this might be the perfect time to buy. On the other hand, if you're interested in paring down your wardrobe or saving funds for a higher priority item on your wish list, I'd suggest holding off for now.

If this didn't help, take lots of pictures so I can determine its placement on my list for 2014.

Thanks for the scoop, I'll probably save the rewards for something else down the line, maybe some dirt cheap shoes during the next 40% sale.
