Was able to order 2 shirts on separate orders for $22 each, shipped. Very tempted to order more.

I love my CT Shirts, and at that price they are more than worth it.

      Debating what to do here...
Navy white dot grenadine for $50 shipped: http://www.ctshirts.com/men's-ties/m...|||||||&ppp=55
Navy pindot silk for $40 shipped: http://www.ctshirts.com/Navy-_and-wh...V|||||||||||||

The CT grenadines didn't get the greatest reviews on styleforum... but that's styleforum.

LosRockets, the pattern isn't centered on the first tie. That would bother me to the point where I couldn't wear it. The second tie is a great choice.

PS: Charles Tyrwhitt runs frequent "$40 for a shirt+tie of your choice" sales. $40 for their ties is steep.

Nice, thanks for the tip. Picked up a few shirts and a tie for $17-$27 each.

@Los: If my choice were just between those two, I'd opt for the grenadine because, well, it's grenadine. But personally, at those price points, I'd opt for either a solid grenadine tie from The Knottery ($55) or a cheaper navy pindot from The Tie Bar ($15).

@Idle, that's EXACTLY my predicament. I kind of want a solid navy grenadine (though the Knottery is perpetually out of stock, it's got a good following) and I know that I could get a cheap navy pindot from TTB.

I think I'll take your advice.

I have that navy pin dot from CT. Got it during one of the specials bruschetta mentioned. It is handsome and ties a great knot. I recommend it but waiting for the shirt + free tie for $40 is a better deal IMHO.

I actually had a really hard time finding an affordable true "pindot" tie a while ago. Everyone had the larger dots. Does TTB have one now with really tiny pin dots?

Here's what I'm seeing for their navy pindot:

@RiveDroit - I was looking at that as well. But jputman and bruschetta bring up a really good point; I'm going to wait on the next shirt + tie for $40 sale before I buy again from CT (but I love the 4 shirts I do have!)

And bruschetta - thanks for catching that, I can't believe I missed the off-centered pattern on the grenadine! Will go for the pindot next time.

Search "mini dots" on their site. That is the smallest dot I could find. No Navy Pin Dot, though (at least Navy/White). You could email them to see what they can do for you. From what I understand their customer service is tops.

Also, note that the CT grenadines are garza fina, a narrow weave, which makes it look more of a matte. It seems less distinctive than garza grossa, the looser weave which has more visible texture. If you're going to cough up money for grenadine, I say go big (weave) or go home

I bought a CT grenadine and will be returning it and buying a Kent Wang grossa instead.

Also, anyone have a good low $ filler? I'm going to finally order this cable-knit cardigan I've been mildly obsessing over for $69 with the discount. Need $6 to qualify for free shipping Or pay $79, but I already have all of their silk knot cuff links that I want/can use.

Might just go with a $17.50 pocket square, that will in essence only cost me $12 over the free shipping threshold. None of the squares really appeal to me though...

FYI, I ordered 4 things yesterday using this code/trick and today got an email saying that only my first order will be processed (the subsequent ones have been cancelled) because the code is a one-time use code. Thankfully, the first thing I ordered was the shirt I wanted most.

Does any one know how 'slim fit' compares to 'extra slim fit'?
for reference - RL polo custom fit -size S fits me perfectly.
