I don't know if these are Loake seconds/lower-lines but there's nothing in the description to indicate as such other than it was found under "Web Exclusives":

Edit: well it appears Loake themselves won't ship outside of the UK, but for anybody living over there, could be worth a look?

I didn't get in to the city in time before the Wolverine shell boots were gone. Oh well.

Here are a whole bunch of cheap deals on Church's suede, all for 145 Euros + shipping to US. Shipping is kinda pricey but still you're looking at $240 shipped to US.

I'm not listing each but sizes are obviously limited.

Interesting. The Capital last is usually only used in their 1880 line -- 1880 is calf leather, made in England and this model is called "Strand" -- but this shoe doesn't seem to be in their 1880 line. Could be CG leather, and possibly not made in England.

FWIW, I find the Capital last to be very nice, with a soft chiseled toe.

Fred, curious about your thoughts on these beauties. I've been considering diving into the world of G+G, but it's risky having not tried one on and it being final sale. Then again, it's a 10D for 60% off.

Wow! G&G is obviously an amazing manufacturer and I love that chisel-toe last. That's a great price to step up to G&G which admittedly I would love to try. My only hesitation would be this: I found that I like wholecuts in concept a lot more than I do in practice. With the absence of any design details to draw the eye, the eye is drawn to the creases, nicks, flaws, etc that the shoe picks up during its lifespan. The cap of a cap toe, for example, is such a strong design element that it draws the eye and you don't notice the other stuff. I have a pair of AE Westgates that I was really excited to get initially that I don't find myself wearing very often now. That's a really beautiful shoe though and the added interest of the last shape and the coloring at the toe might be enough to overcome other concerns. I think wholecuts really need to have the right last to be successful and that G&G is a much more interesting last than the AE 8 last that the Westgate is on.

It's also my size so buy it before I'm tempted
            .

This amazing G&G monk is also in stock in a 10.5, was $1,125 now $449:

I read that SF post on captoes as well and I think this is a valid point. I also like the idea of wholecuts though, so I thought all the points you made about the last and different color, along with the detail on the vamp, might make these wear better than other wholecuts. They'd probably be an absolute paid to keep shined with the color difference though.

Dang so tempted. Might sleep on it this weekend. I just got a new job with an increased salary, so these may be my celebratory shoes.

It was just brought to my attention (thanks fey!) that shell cordovan Kenwoods (firsts retail for $595) are part of the AE 2 for $250 sale on discontinued seconds. I'm sure sizing is super limited but that's a steal if they have your size!

A few Mark McNairy shoes, I think these are US sizes but I'd verify before purchasing.

Country Brogue Boot, was $408 now $245, size 9.5:
                    http://www.rooneyshop.com/products/country-brogue-boot

Country Brogue, was $398 now $160, size 12:
                    http://www.rooneyshop.com/collection...country-brogue

Two Tone Brogue, was $340 now $136, size 8 & 8.5 (This specifically specifies US sizing):

I'd buy the first two instantly if they were my size. Not sure if I could pull off the third one or not, but if you can then knock yourself out!

                      I really like this color:

Ovadia & Sons snuff suede chukka on a crepe sole, was $595 now $365, US sizes 10 & 10.5, "hand made in England"

I wonder who makes this? It's a pretty good deal if it's made by one of the better Northampton companies.

Apparently Alfred Sargent makes the O&S shoes. That's a decent deal for Sargents. The calf version on a rubber sole is £275.00 Ex VAT ($410ish + shipping) from Shoehealer:

I just grabbed a pair of these Rancourts from the Jack Spade surplus sale for $129 (was $250). I'll have to see exactly what the real life color is to know how to wear 'em, but suede Rancourt boat shoes for $129 was too good to pass up.

The J.Crew Wallace & Barnes angler jacket http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/W...7387/97387.jsp just got its price dropped to $149.99 so with the additional 30% off it would be $104.99 which is way down from the original retail price of $328. All sizes are still available too.
