So I'm in no spend challenge as I'm between jobs.
Being my usual masochistic self i hopped on the threads... and then it happened.
I was reading the thread by dackman and someone mentioned last years fall/winter outerwear extravaganza post over on the main site. I pulled it up as a reference and read about someone ebaying a nice USGI sterlingwear peacoat. Well, he linked the seller so I 'HAD TO' check current the current inventory. then i found this vintage WWII 10 button peacoat in mint condition.
*DISCLAIMER*
if you look at the sellers other listings you can see the difference in the construction of the older model vs the shoulder seam on the gulf war era. the craftsmanship just isn't the same.
someone buy this so i don't have to see it.Last edited by Clarkie_415; October 10, 2014, 12:34 AM.

Sorry forgot to publish the link. The seller is sl5269 http://m.ebay.com/sch/sl5269/m.html?isRefine=true
It's interesting to see the difference in design as you look at the different periods. I remember seeing an article that broke down the differences in quality and suppliers for the different years somewhere. Off to look for that again. If I find it I'll post in the main clothing forum and tag ya.
Can't beat the original

In honor of Fred, lots of stuff on sale at Rider Boot shop. I ended up ordering a pair of the Walker Lite chukkas:

but was very tempted by these Ithaca chukkas as well:
