Frye James plain toe oxfords in cognac for $60 after 20% off for new newsletter subscribers (if you're a size 12). The original price was somewhere north of $200.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It's basically boot-style construction in an oxford form.

Also for pretty good cotton crew neck sweaters, $7.50 as well with code.

I can't speak for Fred, but I suspect this PSA should be in the -Deals-Around-the-Net-Open-Thread

jcp strikes me as being a bit more low-brow then most of the items Fred posts on here about!

Joseph Abboud Men's 2 Button Grosgrain Notch Lapel Tuxedo in Loro Piana Fabric ($320 after discount)

        http://www.amazon.com/Joseph-Abboud-...4049030&sr=1-4

Hard for me to nail down an original price, but it's probably somewhere in the ballpark of $600-700.

        Pros:
        Loro Piana fabric
        price
        shoulders look good
fabric buttons (as they should be)

        Cons:
potentially high button stance (but it might be how the model is wearing it)
single pleated pants (depending on your opinion of pleats)
notch lapel (if you're a tuxedo purist)
double vented (Some people demand unvented. Some don't.)
two buttons (Some people want one button. Other people don't mind two. Just don't get more than two.)

FRYE Men's James Wingtip Oxford ($60 after Amazon newsletter discount)

This looks like Frye's version of the Florsheim Veblen, but they only have size 8.5 left. Read reviews regarding sizing.

I realize that these are NOT everyone's cup of tea, but...

Nocona Boots Men's Buffalo Boot ($53 after newsletter discount, down from $220)

            http://www.amazon.com/Nocona-Boots-B...51245&sr=1-180

Only available for people with small, wide feet. Nocona is a solid middle-tier boot maker - a good jumping off point for people who have thought about boots, but didn't know what to look for. These boots check off a lot of the right boxes without being over-the-top.

Carmina Ruby Captoes for $560 shipped (the displayed price is in CAD I believe). I haven't seen Carmina shells going for that low and most sizes are available. My size is still shown to be available, but so I'm not if inventory is real time. Hope this helps!

Not sure how versatile the red shoes are, but I like that tassel loafer... but that's still way more than I'd pay for a loafer of any type!

I would be all over that if I had all the basics covered. I still have some gaps to fill in my wardrobe (brown longwings and brown plain toe blucher).

I have that model in dark brown calf. Carmina does beautiful work, and is definitely worth the premium. Ruby red is pretty aggressive though

Quick protocol question for an often-visited thread - I though the difference between this and the open deals thread wasn't quality, but specificity (I.E. that thread's for "Jcrew has 40% off sale", this one's for "Jcrew has 40% off sale, which means these 3 desirable items are finally below $80: (link, link, link)". I'm totally capable of getting excited about $5 JCP button downs (one of their dead-dying house brands actually fits me very well), but I don't want to thread-pollute.

If you look at the epaulet pictures, the ruby red shoes are not that bright under natural lighting. It's only this bright red when you're under bright lights.

I think the difference is quality, not specificity of items. It just happens that Fred (and others) often only find one or two items (and usually just a few sizes) from a particular quality vendor that are on sale at any given time, which is why the listings seem much more specific than in the "Deals Around the Net" thread.

Sorry I hadn't checked in here over the weekend. My original intent with this was a place to post specific items, usually with very limited sizes remaining, that you have found on super clearance while browsing. Lots of times I'll find a ridiculous deal on something (often quality shoes) but they'll be out of my size, so I'll toss it up here as a PSA. It doesn't necessarily have to be high quality stuff, but I'm just not going to get as excited about 50% off a Merona t-shirt as I am about 50% off Crockett and Jones. For example, general store wide sale notifications (like Gentry sale now up to 70% off: http://gentrynyc.com/collections/sale) should go in the Deals Around the Net thread. Specific items from that sale can go here. Like ...

                            Danner Mountain Trails, US 9.5, 11.5, 12, was $320 now $157!

OSB navy suede beefroll, US 12 only (runs 1/2 big so would fit 12.5), was $345 now $175

                                Boots to last a lifetime (if you're a 12D).

These are Ralph Lauren RRL's. They've got a metric sh!t ton of eyelets, but ought to survive the apocalypse. I have no idea what the reserve is, but they're currently sitting at $51. I'm not sure if the stated $1500 MSRP is accurate or not, but I'm confident that they originally sold for at least $1000. I don't think $1500 would surprise me.
