Sorry. Just something I found for cheap to kick around in near the water. Not on your level with fashion but just a suggestion. I'll cease posting suggestions in here. Still new to dappered and feeling my way around. Figured I'd get a few responses mocking my posts from the fashion experts, but I'm still learning.

No need to be sorry, people have their own tastes. Clothing comes down to if you feel good wearing it. Do I advise wearing a purple suit and yellow shoes? No, however its completely up to the person. Do we feel the shoe is weird with mesh cloth? Yes, but its a pretty normal color and no a lot of people will see the details. Don't worry Mike, we all need time to develop our style.

Mikey, Don't worry. There are no fashion experts here.

Mocking is against the Dappered community ethos. It's not acceptable behavior in the eyes of our posters, or in the eyes of our Fearless Leader Chairman Joe, and Poster's Republic of Dappered Director Paul.

It's true, they're not fashionable. But sometimes practical outweighs fashionable.

FWIW, I dont think those are bad at all Mikey. Though my typical warm weather attire is very dress down compared to my cold weather attire.

Mikey, I think the reason people are giving you a hard time isn't because of the design of those shoes, or the brand, but because you could do so much better for the same or basically the same price. Sperry A/O boat shoes and Sebago Docksides can both at times be found, in great colors, for around $30. That doesn't automatically make your purchase bad, since deals like those are rare and easy to miss, but it is something that factors into my thinking, and probably the thinking of other frequent posters here. But you have to start somewhere, and we all made mistakes and purchases that we would not consider inefficient uses of our resources. It's just something you learn with time, by seeing the sorts of deals and sales that are out there. Only then can you get a real idea of what the uninflated price of a thing is.

But speaking of uinflated (or still inflated) prices, I found these Eastland BIN loafers posted on reddit, selling on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121271964569...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
As I understand it, they are made by Rancourt, and $175 is a good price for this level of loafer. I contacted the seller and he confirmed that they are firsts, brand new, and defect free. So a good value? I'm half suggesting and half asking, because I couldn't resist and bought the size 9.

Made in Maine Eastlands are awesome. If I had the closet space, I would absolutely pick those up.

I'm surprised these Carminas are still hanging around for $395. UK 6.5, 10 & 11.5 left (US 7.5, 11, 12.5). Personally, I find these much more attractive than AE Strands for only $30 more than what most AE's are now retailing for.

Reluctantly sharing this. Can't remember if I usually post non-shoe Ebay things here or in the Ebay shoe thread (Mods: can we rename that "Ebay deals thread" or something so it's more multi-use but still clearly for one-off deals while this thread is more for individual/special item deals?)

Olive Barbour Ashby in olive. Owner says the orange on the back is just lighting. It's a size L and you probably want to size up in this bc it fits trim (if you're considering wearing a jacket under it).

Might just be me, but a barbour jacket is not something I would buy used because you can't wash those. I've read on the forums that some people end up with really smelly ones. I guess you can hose it down, but still....
