Honestly I was tempted to get one of their OCBD for $85. They look great, the tails are perfect for wearing untucked as well as tucked!

Any thoughts on which tie to get for the Earnest Alexander deal? Really tempted by the Mulberry Cotton, but I think I need to get something for my business formal getups and I don't think it fits the bill...

Found the deal on Slickdeals. The posters there say the brand runs true to size but possibly slightly narrow. Toes are a little square but not as bad as Black Rooster's other shoes and Joe says cheap suede is better than cheap leather.

Which would work better with a wide range of shirts? Most of my shirts are patterned (plaid, gingham, puppy tooth). The only reason I'm not looking at the dotted tie or plain gray tie is because I figure one of those would be easier to find outside of Ernest Alexander on the cheap (like at Marshalls or TJ Maxx).

Grabbed the grey Chambray tie for $18, I've been wanting one for a while now. The JCF is a little too pricey, the JCP one was too light and maybe too wide and thetiebar didn't have the lighter shade I wanted in stock. Thanks though!

Same here. I'm just now realizing that it's $50 off any non-sales item purchase. The ties are a bit slim for my taste though at 2 5/8" so I'm having a hard time finding something at a inexpensive price that I want.

That's 1/8" wider than 2.5"! :P I think 2.75" is ideal for those of us who aren't pencil thin but not packing a lot of extra pounds either.

I prefer 3" myself but at that price think I'll pick one up and give it a shot. I'm leaning towards the grey chambray looking tie. Too bad everything else even remotely near $50 is sold out.

I think the Corbin is a bit more versatile.
