MTM shirts for $25! Natty Shirts Review

Hey all, surprised I havent seen anything yet about Natty Shirts on these boards. They recently began advertising really heavily on the Ask Andy forums. A 10+ page thread on Natty Shirts can be found here: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/f...0-Natty-Shirts! Well, I have a formal function fast approaching and I was interested in acquiring a covered placket tuxedo shirt like the one Daniel Craig wore in Casino Royale. Well, if anyone has ever tried to look for a similar shirt before you know how hard to find and expensive this style of shirt can be. Browsing the Natty website I discovered a fly front option for their shirts. Their current promotion makes all of their shirts $25 (Plus a flat $15 dollar shipping fee for 1 shirt or 20). Having never tried made to measure before I was a bit cautious but decided to try it out anyways.

The process: After selecting the options you would like for your shirt (Collar type, cuff type, placket type, rounded or flat bottom, fused or non-fused collar, pocket type, back type, monograming, etc) you have three options for determining the fit of your shirt. The first option means Natty will sell you a shirt in the standard Neck x length configuration in a loose, regular, or slim fit. A second option is to measure a current shirt and input those measurements (The method I used). Finally, one can measure their body and send in exact measurements. After you have submitted your order Natty guarantees your shirt to be shipped within 7 days. Natty's shirts are made in Pakistan (According to my shipping information). I ordered my shirt on the 3rd, it wads shipped on the 9th, and I received it yesterday the 12th. 9 days for a made to measure shirt, not to bad!

While ordering I was unsure of a few of the measurements I was inputting, I simply typed my questions in the support chat box and was greeted, within 2 minutes every time, by an astoundingly helpful and polite customer service representative. Above all else, the customer service is what has impressed me the most about Natty. They have a representative of the Ask Andy forums who relays suggestions from the board to the website design team and days later the changes are made. Someone suggested their should be an option for fused or non fused collars, and two or three days later it was on the website!

The result: Having now had a chance to try on and examine my shirt from Natty I am blown away at what my $25 got me. The fabric is very soft (although a little bit sheer, as some on the Ask Andy boards have mentioned), and the fit is spot on. Every measurement I gave them appears to have been followed exactly. I used an Extra Slim fit 1MX shirt and adjusted where I thought the fit could be improved. They're one or two things I would do differently in the future but those are faults of mine, not Natty's.

I will post pictures of the shirt later today or tomorrow, when I get a chance. Thanks for reading!

wow for that price im very interested to see how the shirts hold up over time. I also wear express shirts (extra slim) not because of the quality but because they fit the best OTR and I dont want to buy every shirt mtm. Brooks Bros ESF are my favorite shirts but at $90 a pop they are a little expensive.

I would agree, thats why I end up with the Express shirts. Although I am far from an expert, and the material is different from that of the Express shirts, the material seems to be of a pretty high quality. The stitching is all pretty well done, the shirt collar rolls nicely and is a good size, the included plastic collar stays are ok (Brass ones will soon be included with every order). Some of the Ask Andy reviews would probably be more useful in estimating how the shirts will hold up. For now however, I am a happy customer!

yea and even investing some power stays would help http://wurkinstiffs.com/6-2-5-power-...ular-size.html. Brooks Bros. non iron shirts are just sooo much nicer than Express- itd be nice to have a good option between $90 (high quality) and Express (low quality and prices from $15- $70).

This is intriguing. A well-fitting shirt in a decent fabric for $25 is a steal. I'm sure it wont be the highest quality shirt possible, but for a price like that, who can complain?

Well, you can always do the 3 for $225 deal and BB is doing the $25 off supima cotton purchases of $100 or more (http://dappered.com/2013/03/the-friday-handful-3813/) - so you can get three shirts for $66.60 a pop. Still not great, but the ESF are my go to as well and they are well worth it IMO.

Very interesting. Might pick up three or four. I'm thinking orange gingham, official green, and tiny office. I wish they had a purple gingham option. I've wanted one of them since I placed an order for one during the CT mess up.
Apparently, non-iron's might be available by the 20th.

So, I talked with the customer support there.
They're going to have a purple gingham shirt soon and if you've had a shirt tailored they recommend using the shirt measurements instead of the body measurements for a better fit (if you think the tailored shirt fits just right).

flat shipping fee is MUCH better than moderntailor's per shirt fee

skimming through ask andy thread...sounds like they're still working on some quality control issues. And the shirts are pretty thin (understandable for a $25 shirt)

Any one care to comment on the latest productions?

If the purple gingham shirt pops up within a week I'll be able to give my input before the month (and sale) runs out. I plan on ordering a purple gingham, orange gingham, tiny office, and official green shirts (ginghams with wide spread collars and other two with classic spread collars). I might swap out the official green for something else though (maybe tiny checkered?).

                            Delayed Response

                            Dear All,
Yes we have been runing an official campaign on AskAndyAboutClothes and thefedoralounge forums. But this campaign is not forum bound and anyone can buy our shirts for $24.99 only by visiting Natty Shirts and completing the order process available. Our reviews are also available everywhere now. Yes we did made some QC mistakes in start but we did provided our customers with full customer support and remade their orders for each and every aspect of issues ever brought into our attentions. Unfortunately not large number of satisfied customers provide official forum feedback but we do have large repeat order qty. The best way to assess us is paying us a visit and check out what we have to offer. Our new split yoke option is now on with non iron fabrics and more gingham colors.
Our maximum response time for any customer support issue is 8 hours in peek time and one can find our customer support live available online almost 24/7 even on sundays. This is our first post on dappered and would definitely now try to be available here as well if the moderator allows us.
