The title pretty much says it all. Where can I find a reasonably dressy walnut (or similar) belt under $50? For that matter, I could use a chili-colored belt, too. I'm no hurry to buy, but I figured I'd start looking now.

These aren't the dressiest, per se, but they look like they're made to last. And they're pretty simple so I don't think anyone would call you out on them not being dressy enough.

I think Jason has one and likes it, but he can tell you about that.

Thanks for the quick response. That probably satisfies my search for a chili belt, but I think I still want something a little dressier for the walnut.

Check out the belts at Nordstrom Rack if there's one near you. They have a fairly decent selection at mine, with most belts under $30. You have to sift through a lot of plasticky reversibles, though.

I do like my Naragansett leather belt. It's well made from full-grain leather. It'll take a couple weeks to get it though. I also like my Ralph Lauren dress belt I got at Lord & Taylor on sale for like $40.

Thanks for the idea on Lord & Taylor. We don't have it here so I never thought to check there. But I just went to their website and found this:

It's not super dressy, but not super casual, either.

The Bosca Brand Belts from Nordstrom Rack are $19.99 and match my walnut strands pretty well which seem to be the same shade of walnut as your new shoes Alan

@Acoustic: That's what I'm talking about. A $20 belt in the ballpark of what I'm looking for.
Also, what size are those Strands? I'll give you $50 for them if they're 12D's. It's a good deal. I swear. ;-)

haha
FYI Alan I bought my walnut Bosca belt from nordstrom rack almost 6 months ago. So I don't know if they will still be there when you check them out.

I was *really* impressed by the quality and prices of the belts for sale at the Cladmen sale. Might not be what you're looking for, but worth looking at. http://www.cladmen.com/on-sale.html?cat=187

Yeah, this one looks nice especially for the price: http://www.cladmen.com/on-sale/brando-tumbled-leather-belt.html

I had this same issue for awhile, until I found this guy on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/rcpbelts3irf/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
It is right at the $50, but cant beat a new, half off, AE belt that will match your strands perfectly. I went all over, Macys, Nordstrom Rack, Cole Haan, etc. looking for a good matching belt and came up with nothing.
So glad I found this ebay seller, super easy, very fast shipping, nice belt

Thanks for the heads-up hard rain. There's no walnut in my size, but there is a chestnut. Does anyone know how these two colors compare? To be fair, I'm not trying to match a pair of AE shoes so I'm not expecting a perfect match. I'm just trying to get in the ballpark.

Try going to H&M. I picked up one for $17.95 at my local H&M that is a dead on match just yesterday. I was almost going to cave in and pick up the matching Allen Edmonds belt, but why not save $100?

Also remember that if you can't find a belt in yr size, for the most part you can buy a larger size and have a tailor or shoe repair place cut and reattach the buckle end so it fits exactly as you want it. Great for me as I always seem to be between belt holes.

The got the same H&M belt as Jim, only $18!
