I like the Orient vintage the best also. Gook luck getting a reply from Orient...I sent them an e-mail last year before purchasing a watch from them and I'm still waiting for a reply. Hopefully, you'll have better luck.

@JC: Wow, my vote is for that last Orient Vintage. Excuse my French, but that is a sweet f*cking watch. Cream, textured dial; blued hands and a power reserve meter? I don't know how much it is, but I'm sure you won't find many other watches in that price range with those features. Shit, I'd probably buy it right now if it were 39mm.
@bk: You're the second person on here recently that noted the loudness of a movement ticking. I'm kind of surprised anyone notices this, since I don't notice at all on any of my watches, cheap or expensive. FWIW, I just listened to my IWC and also my cheapest Seiko and the Seiko movement was noticeably quieter.

Ordered the Orient Vintage with the metal bracelet... Got too impatient waiting for an email reply and I think the white / silver face will be more versatile than the cream anyway. Now I've gotta figure out a strap when it comes...

Jason, hope you got the 50% off, which by the way is ending soon according to Orient's FB page.

I did. I used the DAPPEREDFEBRUARY. Watchuseek.com has a code too. They're going to end both? Are they going to bring their prices down in line with the other places selling Orient?
EDIT: Just looked and they're bringing it down to 30% off... Just posted an hour ago! Good thing I got mine now :)

I think they saw how much the coupons were hurting their bottom line. I put Orient and Bonobos in the same group. They make nice stuff, but it is not worth it at full price. The problem with that is once you start offering coupons or vouchers on a regular basis the value of your brand is reduced.

wow, if they stop offering the coupons, they better start reducing the inflated msrp and maybe offer models not available in the US market or bring back some of the 2008-10 models that have been discontinued.
hmm, just saw the FB post, that's too bad though can't wait to see how that will change their pricing.
What sucks is the "used" price market will go up...meh.Posted 3 months ago # -

Just took a few pics of my Orient Vintage. The pics don't do it any justice (my cell phone and photography skills are lacking). I decided to dress the watch down and swap out the stock strap for a Crown & Buckle full grain oiled strap. (brown-on-brown stitching). The strap is sweet, patina's real nice. My only rookie move was that when I had bought the strap, I did not pay attention to the fact that the buckle was a Pre-V. Problem is, it is a sewn in buckle (not spring bar) so can't swap it out for a thumbnail (what I desired). Crown & Buckle was willing to do a refund but I thought I would get used to it after wearing it for a while (mistake, I tried but it doesn't feel right on my arm). Now I have a Hadley-Roma on it's way.
Anyway, back to the watch..... the Orient Vintage is real nice, I couldn't be happier. The WUS forum has some killer close-up pics here for the bracelet option.

@JC I like it, its growing on me.
Any plans with the band / strap? or keeping it OEM.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Probably going to get a leather strap for it eventually, but I'm off to GA next week so nothing right now

Nice pic, JC. If you find a band you really like, be sure to post about it. I'm looking for bands tentatively.

To anyone else looking for a watch, check out what is left of the Fitzroy stock on CLAD. Just got mine in today and it looks amazing in person. I got the white face with faux croc which sold out, but last I saw they still had the white face with SS band as well as chronos. If I decide to get real gator bands, all in I'd still be in for less than 50% of retail. Awesome pick up
