What do you think of this loafer?

It reminds me of the black McTavish finish/sole contrast but in a loafer, intriguing...

I would never do the black.

The tan is intriguing. Toe is too square for me, and for that price, I'd rather have Rancourts. But sure, they're not offensive

I wouldn't describe that toe as in any way square-ish.

Regardless, I wouldn't buy either of those loafers, especially the black. I'd wear the tan if you gave it to me, but I'd try to find better in price and style if I was in the market for a loafer.

I should have mentioned i'm not considering buying them, they just caught my eye as interesting, mostly because i've not seen the black/natural combination before and my first thought was McTavish. They are pretty out there for sure. I found them because another site recommended the tans for a travel shoe.

I like the tan. I do NOT like the black at all. I personally feel that they seem a bit pricey for the style to me.

I have a pair of AE Westchester loafers in black that I got from the eBayer Hitch-n-post. I think I spent $50 on them. I've worn them only once or twice. A black loafer is a pretty impractical shoe IMO as there's not a lot it naturally goes with. I've kept mine because I actually really like the shape, but I honestly don't really know how to wear them. For a supposed "wardrobe essential" it goes with surprisingly little.

I think you wear them around the house, in the basement/den etc.

I always bought loafers for my grandpa; he had a woodworking shop setup in his basement though

Love the silhouette but not too keen on the colors. I would buy it immediately if it were in a medium or dark brown.
