If I were to own only one watch...

    Would this fly?

    http://www.amazon.com/Stuhrling-Orig...881204&sr=1-40

Some context: I'm going to be a college student next year, so I don't think a dress watch is entirely necessary just yet. I'm pretty confident that before it's time to interview for a solid job (if I ever do), I'll have enough money from internships to get a dress watch, at least a Skagen... For sports and working out and the like I do have a GShock, but I need one for day to day use. In a pinch, this could (?) be put with a suit as well.

I'm also a bit of a dandy (both style and personality wise) so something with a bit of flash (such as this watch) isn't going to contradict my style.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like it. The size is just right and I like the skeleton face, blue accents, and the detail on the crown. I say go for it.

I wouldn't. I think the design and colors of that watch limit you somewhat. For ultimate versatility and not going for a dress watch, you should go with something that would work with brown and black outfits. Something similar to this Citizen Ecodrive that I own. It might not be flashy enough for you, but it is more versatile than that Stuhrling. Better quality too.

EDIT: Here are links to some other watches I think could work similarly for you.

I am a fan of watches as a detail to a wardrobe. IMO, I am don't think of the skeleton look for a "if I was to own one watch" though. If that is your price range, there are a ton of options.

http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BL5250...3793763&sr=1-2 I love the look of a perpetual calendar and I am just giving you an example not a price point though.....but a pretty good deal

Would it fly? For a college student, any watch would probably be fine. That said, if I had to only go with one I'd go with a basic watch with a metal band rather than a leather band. The important thing to remember is just not to over do it and stand out in a bad way.

Mikey, just be warned that my Stuhrling watch is huge. They are very thick and the diameters are usually pretty large (that one says 40mm, but they wear large). If I remember correctly from WIWT thread you look like a pretty trim dude. I'd probably skip that one.

+1. Just get a Seiko automatic with a metal band. They are inexpensive, have plenty of options, look nice but not too nice, are waterproof so are easy to rinse off when covered in beer, etc.

If you're only going to have one watch it should probably be a diver watch like this one

    http://www.amazon.com/Orient-Black-A...ds=orient+mako

for cheaper ones search for invicta pro diver

Also, you keep saying you really like the Orient that I got (at least I think it was you) - spend the extra $20 and get that Orient. It will be more versatile and better quality than that Stuhrling.
